Day 1 of WWDC 2020 in 2 minutes

— 1 minute read

This awesome video shows in just two minutes all that Apple announced. I am particularly thrilled about the transition to ARM processors (Apple is currently calling it Apple Silicon). Other features I am excited about:

  • Sleep tracking on the Apple watch! Personally, getting a good night of sleep has been the single best quality of life improvement in the last few weeks. It would be awesome to see how the Apple watch helps me get more/better sleep.
  • Privacy improvements in Safari (macOS). Web pages have gotten a lot heavier and slower, mostly because of the inordinate amount of JavaScript tracking. It will be interesting to see how Safari's automatic tracking prevention helps the regular browsing experience.
  • Widgets in the home screen on iOS. I think Calendar, Activity and Stocks will be super useful at a glance.
  • Scribble on the iPad using Apple pencil looks nifty, though I am not sure how much of that I will actually use.
  • The Back Tap feature that lets users literally tap at the back of the phone.

And this fun video doing a parody of what was announced is just fantastic.
